Which Way is Critical Path?
Parastoo Mousavi has kicked off an interesting discussion on LinkedIn about critical paths in project schedules. She is of the opinion that despite the popularity of CPM scheduling technique, the quality of CPM project schedules still leaves a lot to be desired.
To her, some of the reasons why project schedules do not display realistic critical paths are:
Ignoring the Resource planning in the schedule
Wrong inter-dependency management
Decomposition
Wrong activities sequencing
Uncertainty
Different understanding of critical path method
Updating process
